Job hunters flock new Al Arabiya show
More than 3000 job hunters have swamped Al Arabiya’s new employment show searching for work.
In January, the team from the top Arabic station’s hit breakfast show, Vitamin, launched Job Opportunities, a new segment for actively tackling unemployment rates in the UAE. Live on air, Vitamin host Sami contacts job hunters living in the UAE to ask what kind of position they are looking for and details of their skill set. The hope is that employers, managers and other key business people who tune into the show will get in touch if they’re looking for staff.
Response to the show has been overwhelming. In its first month on air, the show received more than 3000 SMS messages from listeners actively seeking employment.
Many job hunters who have been on the Vitamin show have been successfully placed in new jobs.
